"Why I got so jealous"

Brutally rebuffed? Or just being overdramatic? The early frontrunner tells WHO about the drama in the house.

One of the biggest accusations lobbed against venue manager Alex Nation, 24, since she earned the white rose from The Bachelor’s Richie Strahan is that she is too strategic.

But Nation tells WHO there was “never a strategy” in place as she vied for time with Strahan. “I told myself that the others’ Richie was not my Richie,” she says. “That’s what helped most: compartmentalising.”

The mansion, Nation says, was “a crazy environment. It’s like speed-dating on steroids.” And for the first time, she says, “I learnt that I could feel emotions like jealousy and envy. I felt intimidated and threatened by other women, which hadn’t happened to me before. You see girls come home from dates and they’re all bloody smitten, and you’re like, ‘Oh, gosh. What is this green-eyed monster? Stay down! Don’t surface!’

This week Nation found herself taking a back seat to the likes of Nikki and Kiki, who each earned precious alone time with Richie. “He really did do a fabulous job of trying to get to know each and every one of us,” admits Nation.

Still, she says, in the house “emotions run high and sometimes logic runs low.” In reply to Keira Maguire’s claim that if she also had a young child, single mum Nation—whose son Elijah is 5—lets out a big laugh. “ It’s a first impression rose. And Richie didn’t know I had a baby when we met. So I don’t think much of that at all.”

So was Maguire, as has been depicted, definitely the house drama queen? “Oh, I don’t know about that. Keira is Keira. We’re a bunch of girls—there was drama all the time!”
