You won’t believe who the highest paid woman in music is

She's laughing all the way to the bank!

Forbes‘ annual list of the biggest earners in the industry is in, and Katy Perry can now add ‘highest-paid woman in music’ to her long list of achievements.

According to the figures (which are tracked from June 2017 to June 2018), the pop princess earned a whopping $US83 million ($AU114 million) pretax, narrowly beating her rival Taylor Swift who raked in $80 million (A$110 million) in the last year.

Yikes, that’s awkward!

Known for being one of the hardest working women in the industry, Perry recently completed her stellar Witness world tour in which she played 80 shows and grossed over $US1 million per night.

Yep, you read that correctly, she literally brought in $AU1.4 million every time she went on stage! 

When the ‘Swish Swish’ singer wasn’t performing to sold-out arenas and meeting die-hard fans in the process, she was on set filming the reboot of American Idol as one of the judges. For the entire season, she reportedly earned $AU27.5 million!
