For his 55th birthday, George Clooney received a shiny new lawn mower from his loving wife of nearly two years.
After joking that he celebrated his birthday with “crying and drinking,” the actor explained the less than exciting gift during a joint interview with his Money Monster costar Julia Roberts at the Cannes Film Festival.
“We have a beautiful front lawn at our house in England and I used to mow lawns when I was a kid,” he told ET Canada. “So she bought me this giant riding lawn mower that is sitting at the house right now and I’m very excited about putting that to work when I’m home.”
Roberts said she already sees Amal’s influence on the former perennial bachelor. “Only when we’re at their house I see the influence,” she said. “In a beautiful way that all wives kind of have a beautiful, loving influence over their husbands.”
Clooney agreed, joking, “I would concur because there is no version that I could not concur. I would get into trouble.”
