We love everyone on Gogglebox Australia but it’s safe to say that the three generations of Silbery women are one of our favourite families.

Consisting of grandma Emmie, 91, mum Kerry, 67, and granddaughter Isabelle, 35, the three women always bring the laughs – especially Emmie with her cheeky yet adorable comments.

But what was Em like in her younger years? On Thursday, Isabelle shared a moving post to social media featuring an image of her grandmother in her younger years with a photo of herself and fiancé Alex Richards sitting in the same spot years later.

My nanna Em,” she captioned the snaps.

“I always thought family history was a yawn but I’ve come to realise the stories of our past are what shapes us. The women who have come before me have shown great strength, love and resilience.”

She added: “I took Alex on a little trip to Tassie where Em was orphaned at age nine. She was separated from her six siblings, taken in by an Aunt and fell in love with a Minister’s son. An extraordinary life of heartbreak, unconditional love & adventure. Then and now. No marriage is perfect but spending time with your person is everything.”

Em’s moving story prompted many of Isabelle’s followers to send warm messages to the Silbery women.

“That’s beautiful,” Gogglebox co-star Faye Kontos commented.

“Em should definitely write a book, miss seeing that gorgeous lady on our screens. Sending much love to her xoxo,” another fan penned.

“You look so like Em!! What a beautiful adventure stepping back in Em’s extraordinary footsteps!” exclaimed another.

2020 has been a tough year for the Silberys. Due to her age, Emmie had to go into isolation and was therefore unable to star on Gogglebox.

The trio also live in Melbourne where the intense 112 day lockdown meant that they were separated for months.

Emmie had to learn about her granddaughter’s engagement news via video call but the family were reunited in October.

“Cuddled up on the couch for the first time in months,” Isabelle captioned a sweet photo of herself and Emmie.

“Ready to watch the finale of @goggleboxau together…but it hasn’t been the same without my grandma. I’ve missed her for months and we are finally able to watch tv, have a 🍷and re connect.”

Despite the year’s unprecedented events, the Gogglebox gang still found a way to celebrate the end of 2020.

In November, Isabelle shared a series of snaps featuring her mum and nana along with fellow Melbourne Gogglebox stars Anastasia Katselas and Faye Kontos, Keith and Lee, Kate and Matt Dalton and Tim and Leanne enjoying a picnic in the park.

“Heart is full when I’m with these guys @goggleboxau end of year picnic,” she captioned the snaps.
