Where can I see the movies nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globes?

Some aren't out yet, others have been and gone - here's your guide to where (and when) to watch the 10 nominees

The Golden Globe Awards are the first major international awards show of the season, and, as usual, some of the films up for Best Motion Picture haven’t been released in Australia yet. And some were actually in cinemas some months ago and have now made their way onto DVD and streaming services. So if you want to be across all 10 nominees (in the Drama and Musical or Comedy categories), here is when and how you can watch them…

BEST MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA

BlacKkKlansman

The Spike Lee-directed film about an African-American police officer (John David Washington) who infiltrates the local branch of the Ku Klux Klan with the help of a white co-worker (Adam Driver) is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, and available to rent on Foxtel Store.

Black Panther

Acclaimed for taking the superhero genre in new directions, both in terms of characters and the themes tackled, this Marvel movie is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, and is coming to Stan on Fri., Dec. 14.

Bohemian Rhapsody

The Queen biopic starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury is in cinemas now.

If Beale Street Could Talk

There’s a bit of a wait for this one, with the film about an African-American woman (KiKi Layne) trying to prove her husband’s innocence not set for cinema release until Feb. 14, 2019. Watch the trailer above.

A Star Is Born

The update of the classic Hollywood story starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga is in cinemas now. The home entertainment release is set for Feb. 6, 2019.

BEST MOTION PICTURE – MUSICAL OR COMEDY

Crazy Rich Asians

Based on the novel by Kevin Kwan, this rom-com starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, and available to rent on Foxtel Store.

The Favourite

Starring Olivia Colman as Queen Anne, and Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz as the two cousins with whom she was intimately involved, this period film is released on Boxing Day.

Green Book

This film about a tour of America’s South made by African-American jazz pianist Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), accompanied by his driver/bodyguard Tony Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen), won’t be out until Jan. 24, 2019. Watch the trailer above.

Mary Poppins Returns

Emily Blunt steps into the magical nanny’s sensible shoes in this long-awaited sequel to the beloved children’s classic which will be in cinemas from New Year’s Day.

Vice

This unconventional biopic of former US vice president Dick Cheney (Christian Bale), which also stars Amy Adams and Steve Carell, is also released on Boxing Day.
