The Gossip Girl reboot is nearly here, bringing with it an even more glamorous cast than the original.
Tackling the world of influencing and privilege with a 2021 lens, we couldn’t be more ready for an updated version of the beloved series, which first aired in 2007.
With Kristen Bell, the voice of Gossip Girl, being the only actor to reprise her role, there’s a whole cast of characters we cannot wait to meet.
Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway
Teen influencer Julien Calloway is brought to life by Julien Calloway. An actress and singer from Canada, she has so far had TV roles in Sacred Lies and Unbury the Biscuit.
She is said to be a mix of old rivals/besties Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf.
Evan Mock as Akeni “Aki” Menzies
A skater and a model, Evan Mock is bursting into acting as Akeno “Aki” Menzies.
He has been likened mostly to Nate of the old cast, having been dating the Blair-like Audrey long-term.
Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan
The stunning Savannah Smith will play Monet de Haan, who has been likened mostly to the vengeful Georgina from the original show.
Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope
Audrey Hope, played by Emily Alyn Lind, looks to be our new Blair. Emily has said that Audrey is into “very classic, old-fashion type things,” which sounds very familiar.
Lind brings some previous TV experience to the role, but still seems to be a very fresh face.
Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott
Julien’s half-sister Zoya might just be our new Dan.
An apparent outsider, we’re excited to see the individuality Whitney can bring.
Eli Brown as Otto “Obie” Bergmann IV
Described as a “rich do-gooder and German import”, Eli Brown’s ‘Obie’ is difficult to peg to someone from the old cast of characters.
Eli is no stranger to book-to-TV adaptations, having already played Dylan Walker on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe
Ah, new Chuck. Thomas Doherty is a seasoned performer, having already scored roles in Descendants 2, Catherine the Great and the TV re-make of High Fidelity.
Described as a ‘libertine’, Thomas has said that as Max “I do get naked, and yes, I do indulge.”
Zión Morno as Luna La
Zión’s character Luna La has also been linked to Georgina of the old days, so we can expect her to be stirring the spot and driving the drama.
Formerly a model, Zión’s acting career is just getting started.
Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller
Fashion icon Tavi Gevinson stars as Kate Keller, who so far has only been referred to as “a mysterious character”.
Tavi has had roles in Scream Queens and rebooted version of The Twilight Zone, but her keen fashion sense and quiet demeanour make her perfect for the new Gossip Girl.

And the show wouldn’t be complete without the voice of the character who holds it all together – Gossip Girl herself, Kristen Bell.
We’re stoked she’s back, bringing an element of nostalgia that will get us watching until the new cast has us enthralled.
