The actors banded together to ensure pay parity and stars Stars Milo Ventimiglia (Jack), Mandy Moore (Rebecca), Sterling K. Brown (Randall), Chrissy Metz (Kate) and Justin Hartley (Kevin) will see their salary shoot to $250,000, which means they will earn a whopping $4.5million per season.

Before the negotiations took place, Milo Ventimiglia earned $115,000 per episode, while Chrissy Metz earned just $40,000.

For Chrissy Metz it’s a great achievement as her salary has increased by 525%, which will surely come as a welcome surprise seeing as she had just 81 cents in her bank account when she was offered the role.

“I kept auditioning, with no savings and no money, credit card debt gaining interest,” she told Glamour. “I went on unemployment. I bought ramen noodles at dollar stores. I never had to — God forbid — live on the streets; I moved in with a roommate who told me, ‘Stay with me until you can afford rent. Don’t give up.’”

Now with her pay rise, the star is feeling suitably blessed.

“I think when you stay present and you stay grateful, you continue to manifest really beautiful things,” Chrissy told WHO.

“And that continues to happen,” she added. “I’m continually grateful. My life is completely changed in many, many ways!”

But while Chrissy is now making more money her expenses remain modest.

“Funny, but I still get buyer’s remorse,” she said. “I just got my first pair of Alexander McQueen shoes; I’m so convinced I shouldn’t have bought them, I still haven’t busted them out of the box.”
