Despite their strained friendship, Heidi Montag wants nothing but the best for fellow mama-to-be Lauren Conrad.
But throughout the five years and six seasons on the show, Montag, 30, and Conrad, 31, hit a speed bump in their friendship, which they haven’t been able to move past. Speaking with E! News’ Daily Pop about her pregnancy, Montag, who is expecting a baby boy with husband Spencer Pratt, revealed that she doesn’t foresee a reconciliation with Conrad in the future.
“Audrina reached out and Kristin [Cavallari] reached out and I stay in touch with them, so they were really excited for me,” Montag said about her fellow Hills costars congratulating her on her first pregnancy. “Obviously I didn’t hear from Lauren, but I wasn’t expecting to.”
“I certainly wish the best for her and her life, and I’m thankful for that time period, but that friendship is long gone,” said Montag.
On an iconic episode of The Hills, audiences recall Conrad yelling “You know what you did!” during a fight at L.A. nightclub Les Deux — but Montag still affirms that she “didn’t do anything.”
“I really thought we would get over this because she knew I didn’t do anything, and so I thought she’d be like, ‘Okay, look, that was a crazy moment in my life. We’re obviously really good friends. Let’s move past this.’ But we didn’t really have the friendship I thought we had I guess,” said Montag. “So I thought that there was going to be a reconciliation, but it doesn’t look like there ever will be.”
In addition to Montag and Conrad, Port is also a part of the Hills baby boom: she and her husband Tim Rosenman are expecting their first child later this year.
“It’s crazy. You would think we all like got together one night and discussed this master plan,” Port, 32, joked during an appearance on KTLA 5 in Los Angeles last month.
“Just totally a coincidence and it’s been really awesome,” the pregnant reality star added.
