Hilary Duff may be open to love once again, but marriage is another topic.
The 29-year-old recently opened up about her views on love on The Love Bomb with Nico Tortorella podcast.
“All of my relationships have been in the public eye,” the actress said, revealing that she fell in love at 16 with Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden.
“It was so all encompassing. It was so intense. It was my life,” Duff said of their three year relationship. “It was like every minute of my day.”
After taking time off from her career, Duff married hockey player Mike Comrie in 2010, later splitting in February 2015.
“When we were deciding to get married, I was totally down and I felt totally ready,” the Younger star said.
“If someone chooses to not live a traditional lifestyle, obviously I don’t care whatsoever. But some of my choices are more like, ‘I got married. I had a baby.’ That was very traditional. I do think there’s a sweetness to all of that.”
“I wasn’t shamed because I got a divorce,” she said. “I think that I was in a very successful marriage for a long time … But we got together based on love and we separated in a very loving way.”
Duff, who is now dating personal trainer Jason Walsh, also revealed that marriage could be on the cards, but isn’t a priority.
“I don’t feel the need to get married again,” she admitted. “I got to have the experience and it was awesome. I guess if it mattered to someone else that much, I would consider it.”
