Home and Away star Ben Unwin, 41, has died

Former Home and Away actor Ben Unwin has tragically died at the age of 41. The popular Australian actor— who played Jesse McGregor on the long-running soap— is said to have passed away last week.

A NSW police statement to WHO.com.au confirms that on August 14: “At midday, police attended Minyon Fall, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare. The body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious.”

The late actor starred in Home and Away from 1996 to 2002 and then returned to the series in 2002 for a little over three years. His epic portrayal of the dark character scored him a Logie nomination in 1997 for Most Popular New Talent. He was also nominated for a British National Television award that same year.

Not long after he became a household name he had a career change and later studied law and worked as a solicitor.
