Days after announcing he and his wife Maria Cahill are expecting their first baby, How I Met Your Mother star David Henrie has been forced to publicly apologise after he was arrested for allegedly carrying a loaded gun through a Los Angeles airport.
The 29-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place alum was reportedly going through security screening at LAX at 9.05am on September 10 when officials found the loaded M&P Shield 9mm pistol and detained him.
Shortly after he was released from jail at 3.02pm on $10,000 bail, a ‘humiliated’ Henrie released a statement on Twitter taking full responsibility for the incident. “I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport,” he wrote. “I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country.”
The former Disney star, who will appear in court on Oct.1, added that he was humiliated and embarrassed by the saga but “thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process.”
The incident comes after he announced he and wife Maria were expecting a baby girl by sharing a video of the pair finding out the sex of the baby on Instagram. “ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. Im a Poppa!!!!!!!! Im so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I’m already singing ‘I loved Her First,” he captioned the sweet video.
