There have been candid confessions, intense challenges and even bugs found in certain contestants’ ears (thinking of you Jess Eva) but now the final seven celebrities have been revealed.
Abbie Chatfield, Ash Williams, Colin Fassnidge, Grant Denyer, Jess Eva, Travis Varcoe and Toni Pearen are all in the running to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle after Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico and Adam Densten’s elimination but there’s one person who is the bookies’ favourite to take the win.
According to Sportsbet and TAB, the predicted winner is former Family Feud host Grant Denyer who has odds at 1.50 and 1.10, respectively.
Next in line set to be runner-up is radio and TV personality Jess Eva whose odds are at 3.25 on Sportsbet and 5.00 on TAB.
However it’s not looking great for AFL star Travis Varcoe and comedian Ash Williams who are currently sitting at the bottom of the leaderboard on both betting agencies.
Grant, whose chosen charity is The Smith Family, has been urging his fans and followers to vote for him in the days leading up to the show’s grand final.
“I’ve made it to the Grand Finale!! The most gory and yet, glorious experience of my life!” he wrote on Instagram.
He added that the real reason he entered the jungle was to help the 1.6 million Australian children living in poverty to have an equal shot at receiving an education.
“I hope you loved watching the show. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life and an honour to be in the Grand Finale with such an exquisite bunch of total legends,” he added.
In a chat with TV WEEK, Grant confessed that he thought he’d made the wrong decision when he first arrived in the jungle and met the bevvy of reality TV stars.
“It hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought, ‘Oh, my God – I can’t be here around the clock with these fame-seekers bouncing off the walls busting to be on camera. This is going to kill me,'” he told the publication.
