Miranda Kerr has opened up about the inspiration behind her wedding dress and she reveals it’s a royal one!
The former Victoria’s Secret model gave Vogue the first look at her special day as she wed Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel.
Kerr, 34, donned a long-sleeved satin creation with appliquéd lilies by Dior Haute Couture.
She told the publication that her look was inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic dress at her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco.
“A dress that fully covers you creates a sense of purity and mystery,” said Kerr. “I’ve had a lot of fun with fashion, and I used to be more wild, free, bohemian. But in this period of my life, my style is more pulled back. My greatest sources of inspiration have always been Grace, Audrey Hepburn, and my grandmother, who at 80 has an effortless chic: a nice pant, a white blouse, a scarf, a little heel.”
Kerr met with Dior’s first-ever female artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, a few months after her parter popped the question in July 2016. This was first bridal gown Chiuri worked on for the iconic fashion house.
Speigel, 27, and Kerr broke the tradition of not seeing each other before the wedding as they told Vogue they chose to spend the beginning of their big day undertaking an hour of Yoga together.
While there was no no bridal party, Kerr’s 6 -year-old son Flynn from her previous relationship with Orlando Bloom was there by his mum as a ring bearer.
Congratualtions to the couple!
