It’s safe to say that Jamie Doran is not a fan of the Bachelor franchise, but now the former Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star has come out swinging against Channel 10 on social media.

Taking to his Instagram stories on Sunday night, the 40-year-old firefighter shared a side-by-side photo of himself during his Bachelorette days, alongside a snap of this year’s Bachelor Locky Gilbert during the premiere episode.

Both men are wearing a navy blue suit with black lapels and a black bow tie – and Jamie had an interesting conspiracy theory to share.

“Ah, so that’s where the suit I left in the crack house (mansion) went! You’re welcome @lockygilbert,” he wrote alongside the pics, adding, “Budget cuts at Channel 10? I mean, it was only the premiere?”

Bachelor Instagram fan page @BachieMemesAu also shared a split screen image of the two men in their strikingly similar suits.

“Why is Jamie and Locky wearing the same suit? Producers couldn’t change it up with a different colour?” the page captioned the snap, and Jamie himself weighed in on #suitgate.

“Not much money in a show that gets south of 500,000 viewers an episode, & less ratings than Antiques Roadshow!” he replied.

Shots fired!

In July, Jamie revealed that he was taking legal action against Network 10 and Warner Bros Australia, sharing a typed statement detailing his plan on Instagram.

“This is not the news I wanted to post, but I feel I owe this to at least my family, friends, and also fans of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise,” Jamie wrote.

“After lengthy consideration, I’ve decided to begin legal proceedings against Network 10 and Warner Bros Australia.

“I’m not going to comment on this any further for he time being and would appreciate it if people would respect my privacy.”

A Network 10 spokesperson responded: “Network 10 has not received any papers regarding this claim.”

Jamie, who starred on Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette in 2019 was labelled a “stage five clinger” and made headlines when he tearfully packed his bags and tried to leave during his time on Bachelor in Paradise, after assuming his co-star Timm Hanly had walked.

However, in an exclusive chat with Who, Jamie insisted that he’s not as intense in real life.

“When people meet me in person they’re surprised at how relaxed I am,” the reality star confessed.

“I’m no clinger, but I’ll own everything you see on screen.”
