J.K. Rowling is sorry for killing off Professor Snape

She made the apology via Twitter.

Esteemed author of the Harry Potter saga, J.K. Rowling penned the death of many beloved characters in the seven book series, but she has now revealed the one that she is sorry for killing.

In a tweet to her 10.2 million followers, the 51-year-old wrote a public apology for writing in the death of Professor Snape.

“OK, here it is. Please don’t start flame wars over it, but this year I’d like to apologise for killing (whispers) … Snape. *runs for cover*,” she wrote.

Snape, portrayed by the late Alan Rickman played a major part in the series from start to finish and was ultimately killed by the villainous wizard Voldemort’s snake, Nagini in the final novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
