She might look like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. But Josh and Austin had better watch out – MKR’s resident fiery Latina, Colombian-born Karito, has a sting to her tail. And she’s zeroing in on the show’s resident pot-stirrers!
“I don’t like their behaviour,” she tells WHO candidly. “Offending people and being nasty to people is not my cup of tea – I like happiness. That’s my vibe.”
Karito locked horns with the brothers from Sydney’s west in last night’s show, saying that if Josh and Austin were her kids “they would be in big, big trouble for being so disrespectful and nasty.”
Needless to say, the brothers did not take the feedback well.
“Karito is arrogant, because she does not like us,” Josh said.
“She takes things too personally,” Austin added.
For her part, Karito is unrepentant, saying she has no regrets about speaking her mind and saying the boys had “dark intentions” at the table. And as she points out, “I grew up in Colombia – I can put up with anything.”
“If someone is coming in and destroying that [happiness] for me, especially when they pick on Ian, I can’t handle this,” she explains. “It’s too much.”
She says she took particular umbrage after the boys decided to revisit the couple’s failed Instant Restaurant, asking each of the guests to tell them their criticism, whilst waiting for entree at Chris and Lesley’s place.
They revisited it all again at Ruby and Andy’s Peruvian shindig.
Karito says she doesn’t understand why they had to bring it all up – and she has NO time for their comments.
“I really tried to understand and not get angry,” she says of their non-constructive criticism. “I was trying not to let the Latina unleashed!
“That was the ugly part of the series, because everybody on the table were getting along.”
Karita has some powerful allies at the dinner table, with many of her fellow guests annoyed with the boys.
