Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry – along with several high-profile celebrities, including Adele and Carey Mulligan – paid their respects at a memorial service in London for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire on June 14 that claimed 71 lives.
The service, held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, was to celebrate and remember those that fell victim to the tragedy.
The fire was the deadliest in the UK since WWII.
The Queen released a statement on June 15 regarding the tragic events, ‘My thoughts and prayers are with those families who have lost loved ones in the Grenfell Tower fire and the many people who are still critically ill in hospital.
“Prince Philip and I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of firefighters and other emergency services officers who put their own lives at risk to save others. It is also heartening to see the incredible generosity of community volunteers rallying to help those affected by this terrible event.”
Grammy-award winning artist Adele was also in attendance at the service. On the night of the fire, Adele was on scene offering help and assistance, so the event holds a special significance to the star.
