Kyle’s manager, Bruno Bouchet, confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that “Little Otto was born this morning. Mum and bub both doing well”.
“Kyle’s beyond excited. Kyle will be back on tomorrow’s radio show to chat all things Otto.”
Kyle was mid-show this morning when he realised he had to run.
“I am broadcasting from home for a reason and that reason seems to have raised its head now.
“I think I might have to leave the show and go to the hospital. It’s time!”
Cheers erupted on air as Kyle could be heard getting up to leave his home and join Tegan at the hospital for their baby Otto’s arrival.
“Guys I’m so sorry! I feel very unprepared,” he confessed. “I’ve gotta run! I feel like I’m abandoning you.”
Jackie O reassured Kyle that there was no issue with him leaving, yelling out to the rest of the radio studio “Kyle’s having a baby!”
She added that she was hoping the baby would arrive during a radio broadcast, confessing: “I’m so used to seeing everything happen in life, like with reality TV.
“I just wish there was a way he could FaceTime us and we could all watch… I don’t think Tegan would like that.”
Fans have been awaiting news of the birth since the pregnancy was publicly confirmed in February.
Kyle announced the news – naturally – on his hit radio show, telling the audience and his co-host Jackie at the same time.
“We thought, where are we going to go in our life? Am I going to keep doing this job? Am I going to do something different in my life? What can I do at 50 years old that I’ve never done in my life before?” he asked rhetorically.
He then asked what she thought when she heard ‘this’, and played the sound of the baby’s heartbeat from the sonogram.
“I’m having a baby, baby!” he yelled while the studio cheered.
“I never thought I’d see the day that Kyle would become a dad, and I’m so pleased for you both,” Jackie told the happy couple.
The pair went on to throw a lavish gender reveal party just weeks later, which took place on a yacht in Sydney Harbour with all their friends in attendance.
Planes flying overhead released blue dust to reveal the baby would be a boy.
After the gender was confirmed, Kyle threw out a potential name for his son when Jackie joked that her daughter and Kyle’s son might host their own show one day.
“It’s the Kitty and whatever you’re going to call your kid show,” she said.
“Otto … that’s what we’re going to call him,” Kyle explained.
“I don’t think it’s gone down well with the family.”
We now have confirmation that the baby boy has indeed been named Otto.
The pregnancy announcement came secondary to the news that Tegan and Kyle had gotten engaged in January 2022.
He popped the question during a trip to his holiday house in Port Douglas, where Kyle spared no expense on a lavish setup with candles, flowers, a red carpet, and a ring that’s been valued at $1.1 million.
Now that the pair have become parents, we anxiously await news of their oncoming nuptials!
