Kyle Sandilands has revealed he “could die instantly” due to an ongoing health battle.
The radio presenter told his KIIS FM co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson that his doctor is concerned about his blood pressure being “through the roof” and warned he could die at any moment.
“I went to the doctor yesterday and the doctor is very worried. I’m on all these heavy blood pressure medications because I’m a maniac,” he revealed on air on Thursday.
“Blood pressure is still through the roof. He was very angry.
“The doctor said, ‘Imagine the garden hose and we’re putting fire hydrant pressure through it – the nozzle in this case will be in your brain and your blood vessels will disintegrate and you will instantly die’.”
Radio shock jock Kyle said he’s tried to cut out unhealthy foods and has lost six kilos as a result, now weighing in at 139kg.
The 50-year-old was told by his doctor to de-stress in order to get his blood pressure under control.
Kyle also revealed his doctor had inquired about drug use, but added that he hadn’t taken cocaine in a long time.
Jackie O appeared visibly concerned by Kyle’s health, saying: “Weight goes hand in hand with health”.
“We have to keep you calm and healthy.”
In mid-2020, Kyle revealed he’s been battling high blood pressure for 15 years.
“I could die – that means at any stage at any time day or night,” he said in a bombshell interview with 60 Minutes.
In 2018, Kyle revealed on his radio show that he used cocaine during his hosting gig on Big Brother back in 2008.
“Back in the day, bad drug addiction. Migraines, I was self-medicating on my own illegal narcotics,” he told Jackie O.
Kyle said that following his divorce from ex-wife Tamara Jaber, he “buried” his face “into a big pile of cocaine to try and get over it”.
The shock jock said he used drugs for several years in the late 2000s, and admitted he didn’t care at the time if he died.
“The blood pressure, that’s what could have killed me,” he said. “They said, ‘Listen, your blood pressure is so high continuously that at any stage you could just die.’ I was like, ‘Whatever’.
“I didn’t care if I lived or died. Isn’t that weird?”
To get over his cocaine use, Kyle resorted to “hitting the weed hard”.
“If you’re self-medicating on anything, alcohol, any sort of drugs … you should try and get off it,” he said on air at the time.
“It’s not a good spot to be in. But I still came in and gave it everything, most days.”
