Kylie Jenner scored a top spot on the Met Gala best-dressed list when she stepped out wearing a mermaid-esque lavender gown which she paired with a purple wig and fur cuffs.

So, as you do when you’re a Kardashian, Kylie decided it’d be cute to re-create the iconic look and dress her 20-month-old daughter Stormi in a miniature replica for Halloween.
“Kylie and her stylist Jill thought it would iconic to have her baby as a mini version of herself in such an epic look that garnered so much attention at the Met Ball,” the label’s designer Alejandro Peraza told PEOPLE.
“It took sixteen hours straight to do the beading on the super-small baby size and three full fourteen-hour days to apply the feathers by hand,” he continued, “and a whole day to design and add crystals to the baby clutch. Some of the feathers were shipped to me, others we hand-dyed as well to make a perfect feathered confection.”
While most people, including myself and the mum-of-one, thought it was the most adorable thing they’d ever seen, a bunch of angry fans took exception to the identical custom Versace number, claiming it was just another example of the “vein” billionaire exploiting her daughter for fame and likes.
“Am I the only one who thinks this is abuse?” an Instagram user commented on a photo the makeup mogul shared to her social media account showing her little one donning the look.
“She doesn’t look very happy not gonna lie feel like she’s feeling tortured… there’s a lot going on there and I don’t think she feels comfortable,” another added before branding the look “inappropriate”.
Here are a few more examples of what a small minority of her 10 million followers had to say about the outfit:
“I want to say this is beyond weird/bad/inappropriate… But then do we expect anything other than that from this family? Those children are going to be in therapy from the age of ten!”
“Wtf why are you putting her into that, just give her normal nice clothes.”
“She looks like she will be pregnant by 13. Nice Halloween costume mom. Very comfortable.”
“This is… really weird and vain and a little creepy. Get a grip.”
While the angry comments rolled in quickly, it wasn’t all bad. In fact, some of the world’s biggest names said they loved the fit.
“Omg, I can’t deal,” her future sister-in-law Sofia Richie commented. “❤️,” said Travis Scott, Kylie’s ex-boyfriend and dad to Stormi.
“So cuuuute! 💞💞,” famed designer Donatella Versace added.
