Hours after news of their split broke the Internet, Miley Cyrus was caught locking lips with Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter. Since photos of the pair getting frisky on a yacht in Italy surfaced, a source close to Liam Hemsworth claims he’s “heartbroken” his ex of nearly a decade is flaunting her new romance so soon after they announced their separation.
“Liam’s heartbroken, and his family cannot believe she is flaunting this for the world to see,” an insider close to the former couple told Radar Online, adding The Hunger Games actor’s family, “thinks she’s a disgrace.”
According to the insider, Miley “was the one to end” their seven-month-long marriage after revealing to Liam “she wanted an open relationship” and “wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”

Liam has since broken his silence, taking to social media to ask fans to respect his privacy during this difficult time.
“Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” The Hunger Games actor captioned an Instagram photo of the beach during sunrise.
“This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
Peace and Love.”
Yesterday, Brody Jenner weighed in his exes strange hookup with Miley, posting a photo of himself in Malibu, California on social media with the caption, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”
Brandon Thomas Lee, Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son was quick to make a joke in the comments section saying: “Let’s round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out,” with the kissy-face emoji.
Brody responded, “@brandonthomaslee watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon,” along with the emoji of two men.
Less than a year after the Aussie actor and American singer tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee, the pair announced in a statement that they’d decided to go their separate ways.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for the “Mother’s Daughter” hitmaker told PEOPLE in a statement. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Rumours of a split spread like wildfire late last week when Miley, who recently returned to acting to star in Black Mirror, was photographed without her wedding ring while enjoying her vacation in Italy with Kaitlynn Carter— a trip which took place less than a week after Kaitlynn confirmed she and Caitlyn Jenner’s son had called it quits.
Since news broke yesterday that they’d called it quits, Miley returned to social media this morning, posting a photo to Instagram and Twitter with a message about the importance of protecting the environment.
“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” the pop sensation captioned a photo of herself with the picturesque mountain ranges of northeastern Italy in the background.
“The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own,” she concluded.
She later posted another photo from her stunning trip with the caption, “Life’s a climb… but the view is great.”

Last month, the “Party in the USA” hitmaker further fuelled speculation her marriage was on the rocks after she and Liam were caught arguing in public. Not long after their awkward spat, Miley ranted “I’m f**ing sick of men,” whilst performing her hit tune Wrecking Ball at Glastonbury.
