Lisa Wilkinson has slammed ridiculous rumours that she and long-time The Project host Carrie Bickmore are ‘feuding’ over salaries and her new role on the hit Ten show.
Speaking to news.com.au, Wilkinson called the reports a complete work of fiction.
“I couldn’t believe [there were rumours] because this is complete fiction. Carrie can’t believe it, I can’t believe it,” she former TODAY host said.
“We refuse to engage in it, because it would only give it credibility and there is no truth to it. Carrie and I have been mates for years.”
Wilkinson pointed out that it is possible for two strong and successful women to not only work together but support one another.
“We have a lot of close friends in common as well and for all of us it’s really disappointing that for some reason there’s a belief … that two strong women can’t work together and support each other and enjoy working together.”
Bickmore shared her excitement on Instagram when Wilkinson was announced as a new addition to The Project panel.
“All class Lisa @lisa_wilkinson. Congrats on an incredible stint at Today babe. Hope you enjoyed your sleep in 👏🍾😴and can’t wait to see your beaming face on @theprojecttv soon,” Bickmore posted.
We can’t wait to see Wilkinson bring her signature smarts, warmth and humour to her new hosting role.
