Having big boobs and a small back is a struggle few can relate to, and it generally gets you no sympathy. I often hear sarcastic comments like: “Oh no, my steak is too tender. Although Hollywood loves to cast what seems to be the only buxom blonde alive, Sydney Sweeney, in every movie they make, her big chest is typically pouring out of every bra and outfit she wears. And while I understand “sex sells,” Prime Video’s new series Off Campus has taken a different approach.
Leading the series is 19-year-old Ella Bright, who plays Hannah Wells on the hit show. A rare casting choice for Hollywood- Ella’s character is the overlooked, girl-next-door, nerd; who just so happens to have huge boobs.
Dressing her in the awkward way many big-boobed college students do, Hannah wore corsets with a bra underneath, cardigans left open to show you do in fact have a waist, and so many white tank tops. It felt great seeing the representation on screen, especially in the crazy era of Ozempic we’re living in.
And while her everyday campus style is completely normal and relatable, everyone is obsessed with what’s underneath. Specifically, her bras and the fact that she’s representing something different. Especially because her boobs aren’t even sexualised on the show; literally no one mentions them. As a big-chested girlie myself, I am qualified to say that this is a relief.
As amazing as the many sex scenes in the show are, what has been unexpected is that Hannah’s bras are the things people can’t stop talking about.
