This year on Celebrity Apprentice Australia reality TV stars from Married At First Sight, Survivor and Australian Idol are flexing their entrepreneurial muscles but a certain Bachelor couple also made an appearance in the premiere episode.
As part of the first challenge, the Celebrity Apprentice candidates threw a charity art auction in Sydney attended by big spenders.
However, as the guests entered the harbour-side venue, the camera showed season eight Bachelor Locky Gilbert and his winner Irena Srbinovska hand-in-hand walking into the auction.
In the brief clip, the couple smile as they look at portraits of the celebrities on the walls.
In another clip, Locky and Irena can be seen smiling and applauding as they watched the auction play out.
Whilst their flash-in-the-pan appearance wasn’t explained, it’s likely that they were there to support contestant David Genat.
Since he and Locky are ex Survivor contestants who met on the 2020 season of Australian Survivor: All Stars, the two have quite the close relationship.
When David won their season, Locky penned a tribute to him on Instagram that read: “Was an absolute pleasure playing with you man. I couldn’t think of a better player and person to win Survivor All-Stars. A true all-star in all our eyes.”
Similarly, David and his wife, along with co-star Luke Toki and his wife, joined Locky to watch the Bachelor premiere together.
The Celebrity Apprentice episode was filmed in late 2020, not long after Locky and Irena’s Bachelor finale aired around the country.
In fact, the night out was one of the couple’s first public date nights.
Back in October, Locky shared a series of paparazzi photos taken from that night, captioning it: “The best thing about this whole paparazzi thing is that you always have a photographer around.”
Locky and Irena are still together and very much in love. Whilst fans are impatiently waiting for a proposal, Locky did tease his followers on social media of one.
“HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!” Locky captioned a photo of himself and Irena camping.
“After 5 months on the road, testing and trialling all the gear that @adventurekingsgear has to offer. We can finally spread the love!” he added, before offering a discount code.
Naturally, fans were both annoyed and amused by Locky’s prank.
“Literally everyone though this was a proposal,” one wrote.
“Now that’s just cheeky Mr Gilbert!!!! Well played though,” remarked another.
One however noted: “Didn’t fool me, think you’ll b a little sneakier then this when the time comes.”
Wedding bells may not be ringing just yet but it’s definitely on the cards.
“We have definitely spoken about our future plans of marriage, it’s on the cards but for now we are happy with our plans of travelling around Australia,” Locky told WHO in December last year.
“But when does happen I’m sure I will do something crazy to pop the question.”
