Taking to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, the 31-year-old Bachelor winner shared an image of a sign that read “Welcome to Victoria,” confirming that she was back in her home state.
“Home sweet home!” she captioned the photo. “@locklangilbert welcome to my home state!”
The couple then revealed that they were staying at Irena’s parents’ home along with Irena’s beloved pet dog, Leo and to say Irena’s mum Vesna put on a spread is an understatement!
In another clip shared to Instagram, Irena revealed the many platters of food that her Macedonian mum had whipped up for the guest of honour.
“My mum is the best cook, all for @locklangilbert,” she wrote as the camera panned along a table full of pastries, casseroles and dishes.
The 2020 Bachelor re-posted the same clip admitting: “I am in heaven”.
“So if we did get hometowns in Victoria this is where I wanted to bring Locky,” Irena shared on her Instagram Stories. “My favourite place.”
The happy couple and Irena’s parents also posed for several pictures and Locky confirmed just how far they’d travelled to get there.
“We have driven over 4000km from Perth to Melbourne and finally I was able to have Irena’s hometown visit she missed out on. Let’s just say she definitely would of been given a rose, most likely ended the show then and there,” he sweetly confessed in his caption.
“I feel like I fit right into the Srbinovski family already. Our first day out here and we are hiking. What more could I ask for xoxo”
It may have taken months but Locky finally met Irena’s parents Vesna and Vasco in the flesh last month when he flew them to South Australia’s Barossa Valley to surprise his girlfriend.
The foursome spent their trip wine tasting and getting to know each other in person and the special moment clearly meant a lot to Irena.
“After missing out on meeting Locky during Hometowns they finally got to meet in person,” Irena wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I have missed my family so much and these last couple of days with them filled my heart. Thank you @locklangilbert for the best surprise and thank you to my parents for making the trip from Melbourne. And for those of you asking…yes they approve and love Locky.”
