They fell for each other on series eight of The Bachelor Australia, and now Locky Gilbert has confessed that Irena Srbinovska really is The One.
In a chat with the Daily Telegraph‘s Confidential, the 31-year-old adventure travel guide called his girlfriend, whom he met in March, his “soulmate.”
“We want to spend the rest of our lives together, we will get married eventually,” Locky told the publication.
“There has been a lot of talk. Obviously we have talked about it but we are just happy spending the time together with Christmas coming up. We are extremely happy together. I have never wanted to say soulmate or anything like that but when I look at Irena, she is definitely my soulmate.”
Since the couple went public with their love following the Bachelor finale, both Locky and Irena have been dropping hints that they will be husband and wife in the future.
From Irena referring to Locky’s mum as her “future mother-in-law” to a sneaky clue she and Locky want babies ASAP, it’s clear they’re in it for the long haul.
There may not be a proposal just yet, but Locky exclusively told Who that he has big plans when the time comes to pop the question.
“When does happen I’m sure I will do something crazy to pop the question,” he said.
To mark nine months since the beginning of their Bachelor love story, Irena shared a heartfelt throwback photo of the moment she and Locky met at the mansion.
“I still remember how nervous I was stepping out of the limo to meet the Bachelor for the first time but all my nerves instantly faded the moment he held my hands,” Irena captioned the snap.
“I have walked away from this experience with the man of my dreams and also the most incredible friendships.
She added: “I am so grateful to have taken that leap of faith and followed my heart.”
The couple are currently living in Locky’s hometown of Perth – and it seems like Irena won’t be moving back to Melbourne any time soon.
In an Instagram post asking whether sunrises on the East Coast or sunsets on the West Coast of Australia are better, one of Irena’s followers replied: “SUNSETS IN GENERAL but west is best they say.”
Irena’s reply simply read: “I know, they have converted me over on the west.”
