WHO was in the thick of it on the red carpet, and one familiar face we were especially excited to see was MasterChef judge and Gold Logie nominee Poh Ling Yeow.

Poh admitted the lead-up to the event was “just so much” with all the media commitments and trying to get her frock ready, so to finally be there was “exciting”.

“I’m just so glad we’re on the red carpet and we’re doing it,” she told WHO.

The 52-year-old has been nominated for the most popular personality on Australian TV thanks to her prominent role on MasterChef, and confessed she’s “hungry” for the win.

She also revealed who she brought as her date, and it tells us everything we need to know about the beloved cook.

Who did Poh Ling Yeow take as her date to the Logies?

Poh told WHO she brought her older brother, Casper, as her date, explaining it was his first time at the event.

Why? Because if she wins, there’s no one else she’d rather spend the moment with.

“I’ll hug my bro, I brought him tonight,” she explained.

The family is exceptionally close, with Poh often referring to her brother whenever she talks about what it was like immigrating to Australia from Malaysia at age nine.

Even fellow Gold Logie nominee Ally Langdon spoke to WHO about Casper.

“I was just meeting Poh’s brother, Casper, and it’s his first time at the Logies,” she said, explaining he was standing around a little confused by all the chaos.

She said she did her best to reassure him and told him not to worry — “We all feel overwhelmed”.

Poh embraces being single in her 50s

Poh is currently single and has openly spoken about how important it is to keep a sense of “individuality” after her two previous marriages.

The last comment Poh made on her love life was ahead of the season 16 MasterChef premiere, where she told news.com.au: “I think it’s very sensible to maintain a sense of individuality because so much of what is toxic about relationships is that merging [which is] often what we think is the right thing to do.”

Too right, Poh!
