She didn’t find her perfect match on the second season of Love Island Australia but fans may recognise Cartier Surjan’s new boyfriend.
Over the weekend, the season two runner-up, 21, shared an image of herself and new man, Jake Simpkin who plays for rugby league team, Wests Tigers.
“My ♥️,” she simply captioned her snap.
Though his account is set to private, footy fans will definitely recognise him as he’s one of the sport’s rising stars.
Originally hailing from Queensland, Jake moved to the NSW capital to play for the Wests Tigers.
“It was pretty tough to leave there, especially with my family being there as well,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“I just thought this was a better opportunity for myself and I was keen to learn and grow, to get out of my comfort zone. That’s what I’ve done in Sydney.”
And lucky he did, as Jake’s found love!
Cartier’s photo was flooded with comments from her fans and followers congratulating her on her new love story.
“Angelsssss 🔥😍,” exclaimed Cartier’s Love Island co-star and series winner Anna McEvoy.
“Cuties,” penned roommate and Love Islander Jessie Wynter.
“All the love island family happy she finally gets what she deserves,” remarked another fan.
One person, however, clearly wasn’t over Cartier’s ill-fated on-screen romance with Adam Farrugia and remarked: “Why am i still not over you and Adam…”
Adam has found love himself with new girlfriend, Renee Ashley, whom he went Instagram official with back in January.
On Love Island Cartier and Adam’s romance fizzled and the former chose to re-couple with Matthew Zukowski, whom she went on to achieve second place with.
“As bad as it would sound, it was a good thing,” Adam told Now To Love shortly after his elimination.
“I felt I was happy. I was happy that she [Cartier] had an opportunity in there to make a more of a connection with Matt before the end.”
“We were really good together but you know, as time goes on sometimes things change.”
