Love Island Australia stars Josh Moss and Amelia Plummer have announced they’ve broken up after four years together.
The pair took to their respective Instagram accounts to announce the news on Monday, with Amelia starting with a line to “always choose yourself and happiness no matter what.”
“I felt it was necessary to share that Josh and I have decided to split,” she penned. “This was the most heartbreaking yet respectful breakup.”
“After almost 4 years of being together we decided to go our separate ways.”
Amelia went on to explain that it may come as a shock to some because “I think we portrayed a happy healthy relationship”.
“And it was that for most of the part, but there was also a lot of challenging moments we didn’t share,” she said.
“No relationship is perfect but there are some parts you have to see eye-to-eye. Josh and I are on incredible terms (for a breakup) and we want the happiest life for one another.
“But sadly right now we have to find happiness separately. Of course I love Josh and will miss our crazy special life together but right now this is the best for us both.”
Josh also shared his thoughts on the breakup over on his social media, saying it comes “with great sadness” to be revealing the news.
“This has been one of the hardest and most heartbreaking decisions we have ever had to make, we had an incredible life together for 4 years,” he said.
“However, at the end of the day we took some time to reflect and decided we were both heading in different directions. I still do love Amelia she holds a special place in my heart.
“The moments we shared together is something ill never forget. We are on really good terms and both wish nothing but the best for each other.”
Josh and Amelia first met on Season 1 of Love Island Australia back in 2018, after hitting it off with an instant connection.
After placing third in the series, the couple went from strength to strength in their relationship once they left the show hand-in-hand.
Just last year in July, the two officially moved in together after almost three years of dating. Their sudden split will come as a surprise to many.
