On Wednesday, WHO confirmed the pop icon and ex Guy Ritchie reached a settlement in their eight-month-long custody battle over son Rocco, 16; then, Ritchie’s lawyer, Peter Bronstein, told the Associated Press that the teen will continue to live with his father in the U.K.

Despite the arrangement, Madge maintains that her clan’s bond is intact. On Thursday afternoon, the pop icon posted an emotional message online.

“We are family! No matter where we are in the world,” Madonna, 58, captioned a throwback shot of her with friends and all four of her kids: Lourdes, 19, Rocco, and 10-year-olds David Banda and Mercy James.

The “Living for Love” singer has yet to comment on the settlement directly but has instead seemingly alluded to it on her social media accounts. The day before uploading the moving family photo, she posted a solo shot of herself with the caption, “Sometimes soccer Mom’s need to be a [bitch].”

The international squabble began in December, when Rocco started living with Ritchie, 47, in the U.K. and did not return to his mom in New York for the holidays, despite a judge’s order. The exes’ lawyers squared off at a contentious hearing in March before they reached their custody agreement outside of court on Wednesday.

The happy snap Madonna posted Thursday is just the latest in a series of family portraits she’s shared on social media. In June, she posted a pic of Rocco and Lourdes together in London; the following month, the family took a charity trip to Malawi, the birth country of her kids David Banda and Mercy James; and last month, Rocco helped ring in his mom’s 58th birthday in Cuba.
