Madonna and Guy Ritchie are no longer Hung Up in court: They have settled their months-long custody battle over their son Rocco.
According to New York Supreme Court documents, the pop icon and her filmmaker ex settled their legal battle, and their was “no appearance” in court regarding the matter.
The contentious case began in December, when Rocco, 16, quit traveling with his mom on her Rebel Heart Tour to live with his dad in the U.K.
Despite a judge’s order on Dec. 23 that Ritchie, 47, return Rocco to his mother, 58, in New York, Rocco continued to live in England, spending time between London and their Ashcombe estate in the country.
On March 2, the New York judge ruled that Rocco would stay in the U.K. with his father and attend school while his urging his parents to settle the battle out of court and away from the public eye.
The international squabble appeared to come to a close on June 1 when Madonna and Ritchie – who finalised their nasty divorce in 2008 – forwent a scheduled hearing, court documents listing the case as “motion pending.”
The Living For Love singer has seemingly made up with her son, spending time with him throughout the summer, most recently last week when she posted a cute shot on Instagram of herself with Rocco and younger son David Banda, 10. (Madonna is also mother to daughters Lourdes, 19, and Mercy James, 10).
The same day as the settlement new arrived, the pop star sent her two youngest kids – Mercy James and David Banda – off to school for the new year. “First Day of School!! I’m Good with 4 hours of sleep I swear!” Madonna captioned an adorable Instagram post in which she posed with the kids.
In addition to spending some quality time with her family, Madonna is raising money for her charity, Raising Malawi, a nonprofit that supports orphans and under-served children in the African country, from which she adopted her kids David Banda and Mercy James. Madge fans can currently enter a drawing for a chance to meet the pop provocateur at an event in Art Basel in Miami in December; proceeds from the drawing will go to Raising Malawi and its beneficiaries.
