It is officially over. Married At First Sight has ended for another year, and we’re scrambling to make sense of all the last minute revelations, and trying (and failing) to untangle the drama.
Last night’s MAFS: After The Dinner Party (MATDP) episode brought more tears and heartache for Bec, who learnt the extent of Danny’s lying through a series of unseen footage and half-apologises.
The pair were rocky throughout the experiment, and while the bride was copping most of the heat throughout the season thanks to her dinner party antics, it was those late season revelations of Danny saying one thing and doing another behind Bec’s back that ultimately turned the tide and push fan sentiment back in Bec’s favour.
And definitely against Danny.

It was because of this that Danny was making demands around his appearance on the final MATDP, likely hesitant to face the music.
He wasn’t even going to show up to the finale, with hosts Laura Byrne and Brittney Hockley explaining to WHO that it was a very late minute decision by the groom — who decided on the day of filming that he would jump on a flight from Melbourne to Sydney and appear on the couch.
“The show was chaos because he was not meant to be on it,” the hosts told WHO, explaining he was asking for money in exchange of his appearance, and then later, a private lounge.
“At the end of the day, we had to give in and say that he could have the lounge to himself because what is more important? We hear from Danny or don’t.
“Danny’s a very obvious person for us seeing a bit more of a flip in him towards the end.”
Danny’s last minute decision didn’t help win fan favour
After the show aired last night, there’s been an influx of commentary about Danny and his behaviour.
And, most fans can see right through his behaviour.
“I think Danny just played a nice smooth game to stay; a nice apartment in Sydney, wear the nice suits and ties. All to keep, catching up in the bar with mates most afternoons and enjoying great food and wine at the dinner parties,” one fan said, voicing the opinion many fans have that Danny simply strung Bec along to continue the experience for longer.
“He’s just a player,” one fan said, while another called him “gutless” and another a “gaslighter”.
However, another said they still much preferred the groom over “all the brides”.
Thankfully, we can now all move on, and remove our eyes from the screen.
Or at least watch something wholesome, like MasterChef.
