We loved Charlene Perera when she starred on Married At First Sight‘s fifth season, especially when she put Dean Wells in his place for his disrespectful behaviour towards women.
Though she and her on-screen husband Patrick Miller made a cute couple, Charlene struggled with his immaturity and clashed with his mother and the two eventually called it quits.
Replying to a fan on Instagram, the season five star hinted at the reason for their split when she admitted that she and Patrick were “at very different stages.”
However, Charlene, 37, has a new man in the picture and it seems like they’re very much on the same page.
Though it’s still relatively fresh, general manager Charlene is in a relationship with 41-year-old boyfriend Jonathan Byrnes whom she met on dating app, Bumble.
The couple have also moved in together in the Melbourne suburb of Elwood.
“Moving day phase 1!!!!! Smashing it out like dynamite,” Charlene captioned a sweet photo of herself and Jonathan in front of a removalist truck.
Speaking to 9Entertainment, Charlene explained that they’re both career-driven but also keen to have children.
“He’s a little bit older than me, 41, and I think that’s really great. I think dating someone slightly older than me was a good option,” she said, adding that she reckons he’s “The One.”
“I really do. Yes — definitely, actually. Yes, which is pretty amazing. I’m a happy lady.”
Charlene will come face-to-face with her former co-stars including Dean Wells for the MAFS grand reunion two-part special.
The season five star shared an image from the sure-to-be explosive dinner party ahead of the premiere date.
“Bahahaha well who thought I’d ever be back here…..” she wrote in her caption.
