They were the poster couple of Married At First Sight 2020 and now Lizzie Sobinoff and Seb Guilhaus have celebrated a year since their first meeting at the altar.
Lizzie, who returned to MAFS for a second shot at love, shared a heartfelt message to her groom, Seb alongside a glamorous photo shoot snap of the couple.
“All the hurdles. The patience. The differences. A yr later and you are still my world,” she sweetly captioned the snap.
To make matters even more adorable, Seb commented on the post: “What a fantastic year.”
Personal trainer Seb shared his own anniversary message along with an update about his and Lizzie’s relationship.
“I think this picture sums where we are at perfectly,” the MAFS groom captioned a selfie of himself and his girlfriend.
“Lately I’ve been in my office for hours on end, answering emails and preparing for the upcoming challenge… last night baby came and sat on my lap and we had a little bonding session at the computer, because she just wanted to spend more quality time with me and see exactly what I do,” Seb shared.
“Today marks 1 year since we met … myself, a super nervous Peter Garrett impersonator sweating on the aisle and a cool, calm and collected Chameleon, almost angelic as she floated toward me … I’ve only ever had 1 other anniversary nearly ten years ago and baby’s never had one,” he added.
“We’ve overcome a television show… distance… COVID …. having 0 clue how to maintain and grow in a relationship and every other hurdle known to man … so a year for both of us … is very special … it shows that we are capable of true connection … we deserve to love and be loved … happy anniversary Yum.”
On their MAFS wedding day, Seb was audibly impressed when he saw Lizzie walk up the aisle towards him but didn’t realise it was the same Lizzie from the previous season until her wedding vows.
Thankfully, he’d loved her on the show and was attracted to her and couldn’t believe his luck that he had been matched with her.
“The experts, spot on. They have matched me with someone that I think is totally compatible,” he said following the on-screen wedding.
Lizzie was equally impressed at the time musing: “Sebastian seems like he was kind and he makes me feel safe. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I feel have a feeling like this could actually work.”
Fans are eager for an engagement announcement and went wild when they saw that the couple had exchanged rings with each other’s names engraved on them.
“Can he put it on your left finger already 🙄 haha your story is actually the best thing ever to come out of MAFS,” one fan joked.
“Best couple hope u marry too,” penned another.
