Lizzie Sobinoff’s second stint on Married At First Sight was a little more successful than her first, when she fell for her groom Seb Guilhaus.
But the reality star has now given fans an update on her friendship with co-star Stacey Hampton, clarifying if the pair are indeed still mates.
In an Instagram Q&A, Lizzie (along with boyfriend Seb) answered questions from her fans and naturally many referred to her experience on MAFS.
One of the messages that came through read: “It’s my birthday b****,” to which Lizzie responded by singing a rendition of Happy Birthday and tagging Stacey.
A fan then asked if Lizzie was still friends with Stacey and at first, the response didn’t look good.
“Stacey and I are no longer friends. We had an argument…,” Lizzie began with a serious look on her face, before she quickly burst into laughter admitting: “No, we’re friends.”
Lizzie and Stacey became fast friends during their time on the reality dating show, when Lizzie famously protected Stacey during the girls’ night reunion after a heated altercation with co-star Hayley Vernon, who had an affair with Stacey’s husband.
“I was very protective of Stacey,” Lizzie told TV WEEK shortly after the episode aired earlier this year.
“Hayley was pummelling Stacey as a person. You could see Stacey was hurting. I’m there going, ‘Hang on – aren’t you the one who, while this woman was at home with her kids, decided to hook up with her partner?'”
Whilst Stacey is based in Adelaide with her two sons, Lizzie and Seb have moved in together in Sydney.
Now that borders are open between the two states, perhaps a reunion is in order!
Stacey recently turned 27 and the mum-of-two reflected on her life in a birthday Instagram post earlier this week.
“27 today. I can say I’m standing here today blessed,” she began her post.
“I have two beautiful healthy boys. A law degree, admission to the bar, two tafe certificates, a clothing label dropping soon and my greatest accomplishment – my charity!”
She added: “Be your own inspiration. F**k what people say, they don’t pay your bills.”
Lizzie and Seb’s romantic relationship is the only marriage from the 2020 season of the show that is still going.
In September, the pair shared some intimate insights into their relationship, with Seb answering fans’ questions about himself and Lizzie in another Instagram Q&A.
When one fan remarked that they were still together, Seb mused: “Yes! MAFS, COVID, long-distance relationship, living together, adjusting, being single for so long and not being relationship experts … we’ve overcome a lot and we’re getting stronger not weaker.”
The couple also exchanged rings with each other’s names engraved on them – and it didn’t take long for fans to ask when their wedding would be.
“Can he put it on your left finger already 🙄 haha your story is actually the best thing ever to come out of MAFS,” one fan joked.
“Best couple hope u marry too,” penned another.
