The first teaser trailer for Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has landed, and boy does it look fun.
WATCH THE TRAILER FOR MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL BELOW:
The live-action sequel-remake of the Sleeping Beauty classic follows Angelina Jolie reprising her old role as Maleficent and her fellow dark fairy’s involvement in soon-to-be Queen Aurora‘s (Elle Fanning) political movement.

The movie also introduces Michelle Pfeiffer as the queen of a neighboring kingdom.

Our favourite Disney villain/horned fairy will join forces with Aurora this time, which is a complex relationship, to say the least, but all in an effort to protect the enchanted wilderness that surrounds their kingdom.
The fantasy adventure teases viewers with the possibility of more tension between the two women, as Maleficent decides to take matters into her own hands, while Aurora pleads a more diplomatic approach.
Further to the plotline, Princess Aurora hopes to marry Prince Phillip, who was played by Brenton Thwaites in the first movie, but is being replaced by actor Harris Dickinson!
Maleficent doesn’t approve of the wedding.
However, their wedding would unite Ulstead and the neighboring Moors, which would give the couple a greater stake across that land. According to Disney’s official synopsis, Maleficent and Aurora “are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family.”
The new trailer also reveals that the notorious villain will have her own extended family drama to deal with, as several magical creatures resembling her family members show up along the way.
Disney’s live-action Maleficent 2 lands in cinemas on October 17.
