Based on the real-life investigation into the 2004 murder of French student Amélie Delagrange in a well-to-do area of London, British crime drama Manhunt puts the procedure into procedural.

The three-part series follows the way police officers, led by the fastidious Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton (Martin Clunes), conducted the case.

Key among the things to be determined was whether the killing was linked to a previous murder that shared similar characteristics.

Manhunt also spends a good amount of time showing the way office politics and the disbursement of police resources played a part in the investigation, with every decision made by Sutton coming under intense scrutiny from all sides.

We also get a glimpse of the detective’s home life, but it is the details of the case that provide the real interest here. With true crime more popular than ever, Manhunt should find a healthy audience. (Starts Tue., Mar. 19 at 9pm; Seven) 3.5 stars
