Australian actress Margot Robbie counts Will Smith and Suki Waterhouse as friends but she almost made an enemy out of Alexander Skarsgard during a sex scene for their new film Tarzan.
The star, 25, plays Jane Porter in the remake of the classic jungle romance opposite the Swedish-born Skarsgard, 39, and admits at one point “We just got carried away a bit.”

Robbie, who seduced Leonardo Di Caprio in her star-making role as a corporate wife in Wolf of Wall Street, was in the throes of onscreen love-making with Skargard when things when awry.
According to Entertainment Weekly, director David Yates encouraged Robbie to slap Skarsgard during the scene: “Just kind of give him a punch.” But Alexa Chung’s boyfriend was left with quite a bruise after Robbie put her all into it, although she’s defended herself to Buro247: “I didn’t injure Alexander and I didn’t punch him in the face—at least not hard. But he’s a pretty strong guy, he can take it.”
It’s not the first time Robbie has played it rough with co-stars. While auditioning for Wolf of Wall Street, she went off-script and slapped Leonardo Di Caprio.
As she told UK Harpers Bazaar, she walked up “really close” to his face and thought, “Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever?’ But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, ‘Whack!’ I hit him in the face. And then I scream, ‘F— you!’ And that’s not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze.”
Luckily both Skarsgard and Oscar winner Di Caprio were impressed with her acting instincts.
As for the rest of filming with the Swedish star, “He’s great. He’s very pleasant and charming to be around,” Margo told Buro 24/7. “Alexander worked so hard during the filming and he’s just amazing in it. I think people are going to love him and really enjoy this movie.”
