It’s been a trying time for Married At First Sight’s most incompatible couple, Hayley Vernon and David Cannon, as they come to terms with the cheating scandal that rocked the controversial experiment.
WATCH: Michael gets cosy with Hayley just hours before the cheating scandal
And as the wedge between the unhappily married pair becomes even apparent, the hot-headed truck driver has done us a solid and spilled new information about the first wife swap of the season.
“We were sleeping in separate rooms by this stage,” the MAFS groom revealed to news.com.au’s Not Here To Make Friends podcast.
“I was in Tash and Amanda’s old room… And I heard this absolute howling out the front, it was Vanessa, she was absolutely hysterical. It came out (through Josh) that Hayley and Michael had basically been having dry sex on Chris and Vanessa’s bed.”

As we know, Vanessa Romito was in the room when Hayley and Stacey Hampton’s groom Michael Goonan hooked up, telling New Idea that it was far worse than what viewers were led to believe.
“They were fooling around on the bed and dry humping. Shoes were flying everywhere,” she said last week, lifting the lid on the cheating scandal that took place while Stacey was spending time with her children in Adelaide.
“Michael walked into our room. He was really drunk and so was Hayley. Hayley said, ‘my husband (David) doesn’t want to f–k me’. And I said, ‘mine doesn’t either’. [Michael] turned around and said, ‘I would f–k both of you’.”

According to news.com.au, after Vanessa witnessed the affair take place in her hotel room, she lost trust in the experiment and the experts, which is why she really called it quits with her TV husband, Chris Nicholls.
“(Vanessa left) because Hayley cheated and Chris didn’t do anything to stop it, and other things happened that night, but Vanessa was so outraged that things had taken place that night that she left,” he said, hinting Vanessa has “her own story to tell” about that evening.
Despite initially rejecting all involvement in the scandal while the cameras were rolling, Michael finally confirmed he’d kissed Hayley, however, insisted they were “just mucking around”.

“We were all joking and having a laugh. We were mucking around with the phone and were like, ‘Oh how funny would it be if this got out?'” he told TV Week of the naughty hookup.
“We were fully clothed, just being stupid, being loose, having fun, not really understanding the implications of what rumours can do to your life.”
“We’d had a few drinks,” he said, with Jonethen later revealing he was playing the ‘Oh, I was too drunk to remember card’. “It got to the point where I was like, ‘Did I kiss her? Didn’t I kiss her?'”
“The morning David found out Michael had hooked up with his wife Hayley the night before, he was absolutely ropeable and he went and confronted him about it,” a source told New Idea on Monday.

“The producers had trouble pulling him off Michael so one of the girls started yelling out to call the police, but the producers managed to shut the whole thing down.”
Despite clearly being in the wrong and doing the dirty on David, Michael was so shaken up by the confrontation producers decided to send him to a hotel in Paramatta for a few days.
“They never had any security guards at the dinner parties, but after that incident, they brought them in at every one,” the source added.
