As we near the premiere of Married At First Sight (hello February 2), a few of the show’s contestants have already laid into Channel Nine over their portrayal on the controversial dating experiment.

After the biographies for each participant was released earlier this week, future reality star Mishel Karen took exception to her blurb, slamming the network for solely portraying her as a “single mother”, rather than including her other qualities and achievements which she says are equally as important.
“Wow. I wonder if I was not a single mum would I be a responsible adult?” the mum-of-two captioned a photo of herself she posted to her Instagram page.
“I put my children before any man or person! I raised incredible humans and did a great job. I [also] self-funded my post-graduate education,” she continued. “I am smart, intelligent and established my own financial security.”
In Mishel’s bio, she spoke about her dating history, admitting that seven out of the eight men she’s been romantically involved with have cheated on her.
Interestingly, she’s not the only contestant to tear into the network. Earlier this week, Hayley Vernon— who’s already said to be involved in a lot of drama this season— tore into Nine about her promotional photos, accusing producers of heavily doctoring her photos.
“Me after training tonight vs MAFS edited pics… whoever did these pics should be fired,” the tatted-up finance broker captioned the post showing the contrast in her appearance before and after the edit.
She also said they’d changed the colour of her hair, writing: “Apparently I have light brown hair too?”
The fitness fanatic’s dig at the network comes after her arduous battle with drug addiction was shown in the new trailer for the roguest Aussie reality series.
“As a recovered drug addict, Hayley has been through a tougher life than many,” Nine Now reported.
“But it was health and fitness that pulled her out of the darkness, and she has never looked back.”
While little is known about her struggles at this point in time, the article claimed Hayley turned to health and fitness to “pull her out of the darkness”.
