The last few weeks have been rocky for Married At First Sight‘s Brett Helling and Booka Nile but it seems like Brett himself has confirmed the two are officially donezo.
On Wednesday night, the MAFS groom attended Nova radio duo Fitzy and Wippa’s Dinner Party in Sydney with co-stars Bryce Ruthven, Melissa Rawson, Jo Todd, Patrick Dwyer and Belinda Vickers.
Not in attendance, however, was Brett’s on-screen wife Booka Nile who instead attended the radio station’s Melbourne dinner party event.
But in an exclusive chat, the electrician and psychology student dropped a massive spoiler that he and Booka are well and truly over.
“Mums love me!” Brett joked to WHO, before adding, “I should’ve been matched with a mum.”
At the dinner party event, Brett was asked by the radio duo if he and Booka could turn things around and rekindle their romantic relationship.
“Where f**are we going to turn to? After Patrick‘s letter, where are we going to go?” Brett replied.
“Put it this way, I will say that I wanted to make up from where we were and I didn’t want to carry that sort of negativity through to the future so watch and see.”
He even made a cheeky swipe about Booka’s heavy metal music!
“She actually has a beautiful voice but the metal music sounds like a car crash!” he laughed.
We’ll always have that iconic ‘Brett’ song.
In a previous chat with WHO, Booka confessed that though she likes his tickly whiskers, she doesn’t like that Brett is “a poor communicator” and weighed in on if she sees a future with him.
“I’d say we have a future worth fighting for. But after reading that [feedback] letter, I don’t want to be with someone I don’t trust. I want someone who talks nicely about me behind my back and is proud to be with me.”
Fans first suspected that Booka and Brett weren’t going to be the season’s great love story from the moment their wedding episode aired back in February.
In photos revealed by The Wash, Booka enjoyed a MAFS viewing party in her hometown of Perth when her wedding aired, however, Brett was not in attendance and the TV bride did not look happy in the pics.
Reality TV podcast So Dramatic also reported that Booka and Brett were not only no longer together but don’t make it to the final vows.
“A person who knows Brett got in touch and said: ‘I know Brett, they definitely do not last. He reckons he’s going to get a bad edit, he’s back in Geelong and telling people they are not together,'” host Megan Pustetto spilled.
Booka also made a not-so subtle swipe at Brett when she dropped her band Internet Friends’ new single, Beam me up soft/f***boi.
Though it only lasts for a minute, fans reckon it’s all about her groom Brett doing her wrong and the moustached guy in the music video looks disarmingly similar to her TV groom.
Lyrics include the lines: “Boy, there’s some bulls*** on your face I’m coming,” and “You’re so predictable and you’ve lost all your appeal. You’re so basic my hymen has gone resealed.”
