Grooms at war!

We’re used to seeing couples at loggerheads and feuds between the brides but this year, it’s the grooms who have been serving the drama on Married At First Sight. Namely two of them.

Bryce Ruthven and Sam Carraro have – to put it lightly – raised some eyebrows with the way they’ve treated their respective wives Melissa and Coco over the past couple of weeks on the show.

From judging everything from breast size to eye colour, the two grooms have a lot in common but are far from friends.

In fact, tensions have been there since they met at the Bucks Night when Sam remarked “You’re pretty nervous aren’t you?” to Bryce.

“I think when you meet someone for the first time I think there’s things that you do say and you don’t. He’s just blatantly rude, he’s an arrogant p***k, he just has no respect for anyone else even his partner,” Bryce said ahead of *that* dinner party.

Bryce then took further offence when Sam unleashed on his wife in front of the rest of the cast at the very first Commitment Ceremony.

“Jake, Cameron, Jason and I were all looking across from each other with raised eyebrows, being like, ‘We’ve got to stand up for this chick’,” Bryce recalled to TV WEEK.

“I said, ‘Mate, I’ve got to stop you – you sound like a d–khead right now.’ I never said, ‘You’re a d–khead.’ There’s a vast difference, and Sam took it the wrong way.”

Bryce added that he wasn’t attacking Sam personally but rather “his actions on the couch.”

“What we see with Sam is about 10 different personalities. So across the time of the [relationship] experiment, I’m sure we’re going to meet all of them.”

Wednesday’s explosive dinner party saw Bryce and Sam’s feud go from one to 100 and it culminated with Bryce launching a glass of water into over Sam, after Sam said he often saw Melissa in tears over her relationship – something both Bryce and Melissa strenuously denied in an exclusive chat with WHO.

“If I had my chance again, I’d throw the whole jug of water over him,” Bryce said.

“The guy’s only there for his 15 seconds of fame and he was provoking me for airtime. I think he worked out that he and Coco weren’t likely to last, so he had to make sure he made his mark.”

Despite bringing the drama in spades, both Bryce and Sam have expressed regret at their actions.

“If I could rewind the honeymoon, I’d choose my words a bit better. I have a habit of speaking before I think. It’s a personality trait I need to work on,” Bryce confessed to TV WEEK.

Meanwhile Sam told Nova radio’s Fitzy and Wippa that it’s been “very hard” to watch himself back on screen.

“Believe me, I’ve been thinking, ‘who is this guy?’” he remarked.

“I’ve been watching it and cringing and it’s not good at all.”
