If we had to name on Married At First Sight couple that’s left us befuddled with every Commitment Ceremony, it has to be Beck Zemek and Jake Edwards.
Since their cringe-worthy wedding day, it’s been up and down on repeat but in a move that shocked MAFS fans, both decided to stay together at the final vows.
“I know that if I walk away right now, I will always wonder what this could’ve been. So although I don’t know what the future holds, I know that I’m not ready to walk away from this without giving it my all. You always say ‘If you’re in I’m in,’ so here I am letting you know I’m in – 100 per cent I’m in,” Beck confessed before she and Jake shared a passionate kiss.
But ever since the final vows, it hasn’t been a fairytale ending. In fact, scandal after scandal has been popping up.
In the trailer for the upcoming, explosive finale, it appears that Jake is the one who did his on-screen wife dirty.
Beck can be heard saying in the clip: “I want people to know Jake betrayed me.”
Betray how you may ask? Well, another voiceover that sounds a lot like controversial groom Bryce Ruthven says: “Jake’s cheated on Rebecca.”
According to previous reports, the other woman in the equation may be none other than Booka Nile, but there’s more to the story than you may think.
Footage emerged of Jake and Booka, who knew each other through work before the show, sharing a kiss at a New Year’s Eve party.
According to Woman’s Day Beck was reportedly “furious” when mutual friends told her about it.
“She’s furious with both of them, but particularly because Booka and Jake are getting such a hero edit and being made out to be the nicest people on the show,” the source spilled.
“She didn’t think Booka would be the kind of girl to do that to her,” they added.
“Even though Jake and Booka knew each other before the show, Bec was reassured by both of them it was just a professional relationship. She feels really betrayed.”
Beck also hinted at the potential feud with radio duo Fitzy and Wippa back in March when she coyly remarked that she “might have” seen the kiss video.
“So this is after the experiment right? This wasn’t while you were doing it was it?” host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald asked.
Beck replied: “No this was after the experiment had finished.. and Jake and I may or may not have been together..”
However, there are also claims that Beck reconnected with a secret boyfriend back in Perth when she went home to visit her sick dog, which was addressed on the show.
The Wash reported that a former flame picked Beck up from the airport when the pair locked lips and the moment was caught on camera.
Another moment in the trailer shows Jake asking: “Can we watch it again?” hinting that the incriminating video is played in front of the contestants and experts.
When she was back in Perth, it’s alleged that she caught up with him though she was still “married” to Jake.
At Fitzy and Wippa’s MAFS Dinner Party event, Bryce also dropped the bombshell that Beck was “missing a boy back home”.
When pressed as to whether or not Beck had a secret man, Bryce remarked: “I’m not going to say yes or no to that, I’m just going to say watch the reunion.”
Jake has all but confirmed his new relationship with Gold Coast fitness influencer and nutritionist, Sophie Guidolin, proving that he and Beck are officially donezo.
The new couple were first identified by Megan Pustetto’s So Dramatic! podcast after they were spotted on a date together, where eagle-eyed fans noticed Jake’s distinct arm featured on Sophie’s Instagram Story.
“Sophie seems to have confirmed their romance, sharing an image on Instagram holding Jake’s very identifiable tattooed arm and also revealing to her fans that she is ‘taken!’,” the podcast wrote alongside the images.
