Now that her run on this season’s run of Australia’s Next Top Model is wrapping up, Megan Gale, 41, thinks it’s time—literally—to turn her attention to a very personal matter.
The model, whose father died of lung cancer in 2014, has teamed up with watchmakers Uncle Jack (unclejackwatches.com) to create three limited-edition timepieces to raise funds for the Movember Foundation.
“Having [my son] River has really struck a chord,” says Gale, who adds that the death of her partner Shaun Hampson’s father from prostate cancer (“a few months before my dear dad”) is another key driver for her charitable endeavour.
“Shaun has been a Movember ambassador for several years,” Gale tells WHO.
“We are passionate about encouraging men to stay on top of their health, to not ignore symptoms or delay check-ups.”
As for two-year-old River? Says Gale, “We hope one day he’ll be able to understand how important it is to look after yourself.”
