For her first solo public appearance alongside sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the 2018 Ladies’ Single Final at Wimbledon, Meghan wore a chic blue and white Ralph Lauren shirt paired with white Ralph Lauren pants. But keen fans would have noticed that the newlywed was carrying her favourite white fedora, but didn’t actually wear it.

Well, it turns out wearing hats in the royal box isn’t allowed!

“Protocol – dress is smart, suits/jacket and tie, etc. Ladies are asked not to wear hats, as they tend to obscure the vision of those seated behind them,” according to Wimbledon’s description of the exclusive seating area.
