Former Home and Away star, Melissa George is returning to Australia for new drama, Bad Mothers. The news comes after Jessica Marais last month quit the show.
George, 42, rose to fame as Angel Parrish in H&A, but has focused on a career in the US since leaving the show. The mother-of-two made headlines for her messy breakup with French husband, Jean-David Blanc in 2016.
Other additions to Nine’s Bad Mothers announced today include former Neighbours star, Daniel MacPherson, Offspring’s Don Hany and Wolf Creek’s Tess Haubrich.
Gold Logie nominee Jessica was set to star in the eight-part series, but pulled out in September, announcing she was stepping away from acting for the remainder of the year to focus on her health.
Nine announced the new cast members at its upfronts presentation to advertisers and media. Bad Mothers is part of its line-up of shows for 2019.
Previously announced cast members include Mandy McElhinney (Love Child), Shalome Brune-Franklin (Doctor Doctor) and Jessica Tovey (Wonderland).
When the series was announced in July, Nine’s co-heads of drama Andy Ryan and Jo Rooney said: “When the going gets tough, our Bad Mothers will stick together. Whether they’re juggling the highs and lows of parenthood, careers, love and even murder, Australia’s new best friends lead the way with charm, smarts and a shameless bad attitude.”
