Miley Cyrus has sparked speculation that she’s shading her soon-to-be ex husband, Liam Hemsworth in her latest song.
The rumours are swirling that the 26-year-old singer has taken a not-so-subtle swipe at Liam in her new song ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’.
Miley released the single with fellow musicians Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey.
In the video, which accompanies the new Charlie’s Angels film reboot, the trio are set as modern-day ‘Angels’, and Miley is seen dancing in front of a male model in a boxing ring.
But aside from the model’s uncanny resemblance to Liam, the song lyrics have fans questioning whether Miley is throwing shade at her ex.
Liam’s nickname for Miley has been ‘angel’ for years, and Twitter fans were quick to call attention to the fact.
“Miley and Liam separated because he calls her angel all the damn time #DontCallmeAngel” one fan commented.
While another tweeted that Liam’s nickname for his wife was “proof” the song was a dig at him.
Although Miley and Liam’s families were “begging” the pair to reconsider their split, The Hunger Games actor filed for divorce last month.
According to PEOPLE, Liam cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup. The publication also confirmed the pair signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their marriage, so an easy divorce is said to be expected.
Miley has since moved on with Kaitlynn Carter – the ex-wife of Caitlyn Jenner’s son, Brody.
