Miley Cyrus has broken her silence following news she’s split from her Aussie husband Liam Hemsworth.

In her first social media post since their separation made headlines, the singer posted a photo to Instagram and Twitter, sharing a message about the importance of protecting the environment.
“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” the pop sensation captioned a photo of herself with the picturesque mountain ranges of northeastern Italy in the background.
“The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own,” she concluded.
She later posted another photo from her stunning trip with the caption, “Life’s a climb… but the view is great.”
Less than a year after the Aussie actor and American singer tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee, the pair announced in a statement that they’d decided to go their separate ways.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for the “Mother’s Daughter” hitmaker told PEOPLE in a statement. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Rumours of a split spread like wildfire late last week when Miley, who recently returned to acting to star in Black Mirror, was photographed without her wedding ring while enjoying a lush vacation in Italy with Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter— a trip which took place less than a week after Kaitlynn confirmed the couple of one year had called it quits.
Fans also began wondering whether the couple of 10 years were experiencing issues when they were caught arguing in public last month. Days after their spat, Miley took to the stage where she ranted that she was “f**ing sick of men” whilst performing her hit song Wrecking Ball at Glastonbury.
However, after fans swarmed to social media to speculate on what was going on between The Last Song co-stars, Miley herself decided to set the record straight.
“Do you think their relationship is over,” a fan tweeted, tagging Miley.
“It was politically directed,” the former Disney Channel star responded, adding a black love heart emoji.
