Netflix has dropped a teaser for the second season of Mindhunter, which is set to air on August 16.
After a two-year wait, fans will finally get to see what FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) discover in the new season of the David Fincher-produced series.

In season two, Holden (who is based off real-life FBI agent John E. Douglas) will come face-to-face with famous serial killer Charles Manson, played by Australian actor Damon Herriman – who also played Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Douglas profiled prominent serial killers in the 1970s and became a world-famous criminal author, with Manson being one of the serial killers he spoke at length with.
“He’s probably the most famous of all the criminals they tackle,” Joe Penhall (creator of Mindhunter) said.
“Manson is a great example of a self-publicist if there ever was one. A classic narcissist. Fame was incredibly important to him. You know he started out trying to be a rockstar and became very disgruntled with Hollywood. I think you’ll see Holden’s growing narcissism, as well as his awareness of how much power he wields.”

Also featuring in the second season of the true-crime series is the “BTK” killer – also known as Dennis Rader.
The murderer was responsible for the death of 10 people between 1974 to 1991, binding, torturing and killing them (which earned him the name “BTK”).
He later told the police that his actions were born from a fetish, where we found sexual pleasure in killing and bonding people.
The character appeared in season one of the series, and viewers were able to see the killer in his real-life job of installing security systems.
The teaser trailer for season two hints at a woman discovering one of the BTK killer’s victims behind a rope-sealed door.
With Rader avoiding arrest until 2005, this storyline may be fleshed out over several seasons.

Also rumoured to appear are criminals like, Elmer Wayne Henley, Paul Bateson, The Son of Sam, David Berkowitz, Wayne Williams, William Pearce, JR and William Henry Hance.
Season two of Mindhunter will involve a time jump to the Atlanta child murders of 1979, in what is set to be a chilling a season.
“This person you’re after, he has an overwhelming fantasy life. Fantasies of what he’s done, what he wants to do,” serial killer Ed Kemper (played by Cameron Britton) can be heard saying in the teaser.
“His dreams will consume him. The real world won’t even compare.”
