While Amy and Tyson served up the brains in last night’s Instant Restaurant, Bek and Kyle aimed straight for the heart with a kiss that got tongues wagging on My Kitchen Rules.
“I hope it was quite tasteful,” Kyle tells WHO. “It was all very spur of the moment.”
Even so, his fellow Group One contestants had been itching for a kiss since Kyle and Bek first flirted with each other at Damo and Caz’s house in Tasmania. “That was kind of like our first date,” Bek says,” and then our relationship just progressed so much that at the last Instant Restaurant, it was like our wedding kiss, so yeah, that’s how it happened.”
In fact, Bek’s best friend and teammate Ash says that she and Bek had been talking about Kyle for a while. However exhausted they were after each Instant Restaurant, “there was always that call, you know,” Bek says. “‘Kyle’s a bit cute,’ little conversations like that here and there.”
Kyle’s teammate Tim agrees, saying, “There was definitely a lot of flirting going on between the two of them.”
It didn’t hurt that Bek and Ash both had qualities Tim and Kyle say they want in future partners — big personalities and a great sense of humour. “Bek and Ash are both bubbly girls,” Tim says. “Ash has got a lot of great one-liners and Bek loves a pun, that’s for sure.”
With midwives Karen and Ros cheering them on and David and Betty dinging their glasses, Kyle leaned over and planted one on Bek. Happy to be a crowd-pleaser, Kyle says, “you give the people what they want.”
When Kyle seemed to blush afterwards, he simply says, “I just get a bit flush.”
As for burying her face with her napkin, Bek says, “I know! I thought they weren’t even rolling at that time!”
